The old square terminal is a bus endpoint and one of the spaces designed for the locals and tourists because of its location next to hotels and Boa Viagem beaches.
The square is one of the main market points of handicrafts in the city, there are approximately 200 stalls with ceramic work, lace, embroidery and wood from local culture.
Nossa Senhora de Boa Viagem church is in the square center and it is opened during mass hours. It was built in 1707. We also can visit an Obelisk that is an inauguration landmark of Boa Viagem Avenue sidewalk in 1926. It is in granite and shows the shield of the Recife city with four important dates: 1654 – victory over the Dutch; 1710 – Reef elevated to the category of village; 1817 – Pernambuco revolution; and 1824 – Confederation of the Equator.
